IHSA 2A SECTIONAL RESULTS
On Halloween, the IHSA Class 2A Sectional Championship Finals took place at Niles West HS. Mother nature decided to run along with us, as she brought upon 20-25 mph gusty winds and temperatures of 40-43 degrees.
- Our Harrier TRIO, battled against Top Runners from various programs in 2A; yet the biggest battle was against themselves.
Our Harrier TRIO ran with determination, GUTS, and butterflies - each anticipating a quality finish and the hopes of advancing to the IHSA 2A State Final Championships in Peoria. Although, were edged out by place and time.
- Overall Place of 132, Joanna Nguyen crossed the finish line with a time of 26:31.50 and a pace of 8:50/M
- Overall Place of 133, Danielle Walczak crossed the finish line with a time of 26:32.01 and a pace of 8:51/M.
- Overall Place of 116 O'Shay Reed crossed the finish line with a time of 20:13.53 and a pace of 6:44/M
Even though the TRIO fell short this season - it only means they will be ravenous for next season. Returning with top honors would briefly describe how competitive our individuals, team, and program will be in 2010
On behalf of Coach Danan and our Harrier Gators of XC - we congratulate Jo Jo, Danielka, and O'Shay on a job well done this season.

- Junior O'Shay Reed finished with a time of 20:25 and placed 26th overall The Dynamic Duo (Nguyen & Walczak) consistantly improved their times and stride as once again in the end a "Neck to Neck" battle as they cross the finish line. "They are like the one-two punch combo" - they push each other, train relentlessly, and give each other the edge they each need throughout a race. "Airness" O'Shay Reed ( rookie), continues to grab the crowds attention with his running style and determination. "O'Shay is a tremendous and gifted athlete - his progress throughout the season has demonstrated itself as his average time is at 20 minutes flat. Only time will tell on his natural ability as he continues to run as a harrier gator.
Honorable Mention:
- Junior Judy Wrobel, Junior Marco Silva, Junior Wardon Elmore, and Junior Rob Fitzgerald completed the IHSA Regional Course with true guts and an unbelievable inner spirit. Truly a young team and all will be returning next season as each nearly advanced to Sectional - though minor seconds and inches cost them at the finish. Though now they have tasted the Post Season -They will return, no doubt - each hungry.
